This is the last Will and Testament of me Ann Izod of Tewkesbury in the County of Gloucester, widow, for the disposition of that estate wherewith I am blessed and have power to dispose of. First I give and bequeath to my nephew William Wood of Tewkesbury aforesaid, shoemaker, the sum of five pounds. I give and bequeath to Mary Lamb and Ann Lamb, the daughters of Mary Lamb of Elmley Castle, widow, and to each of them the sum of forty shillings to be paid out by their said mother in putting them to school. I give and bequeath to my nephew James, the son of Henry Izod of Grafton, the like sum of forty shillings. I give to my brother in law the said Henry Izod the elder of Grafton aforesaid my bureaux. I also give to my niece the wife of Henry Izod the younger my mourning gown, my black quilted pettycoat, two shifts and one suit of broad cloth. I give and bequeath to Margaret the wife of William Stew of Kemerton my camisole gown, my blue quilted pettycoat, a couple of shifts and two suits of broad cloth. I also give and bequeath unto Mr William Clifton of Tewkesbury aforesaid, maltster, and to his sister Ms Sarah Clifton and to each of them one Guinea. I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Oaseland, servant maid to the said Mr Clifton one cotton gown and two shifts. I give and bequeath unto the widow Nind of Newton one hood and cloak and one pair of black silk gloves. I give and bequeath unto Ann the wife of John Jeynes, of Northway, one pair of my best cotton gloves, one muslin apron and one cambrick handkerchief. The legacies aforesaid to be given paid and delivered within three months after my decease. All the rest, residue, and remainder of my linen clothes. goods. chattels. and all other my real and personal estate whatsoever I give, devise, and bequeath unto John Wood of Conderton in the County of Worcester. yeoman, and do make him sole executor of this my last Will and Testament, and desire that I may be buried at Ashchurch in the said County of Gloucester and that the expenses of my funeral may not exceed the sum of six pounds. And I do revoke all former wills by me at any time heretofore.made and declare this to be my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this fourth day of June one thousand seven hundred and forty three.
