This is the Last Will and Testament of me, Charlotte Collett of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, spinster. I direct the payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses out of my personal estate and I devise that Mr. James ------- Horniblow may serve my funeral. I give to my dear friend Mrs. Frances Rudge the sum od fifty pounds. To my dear friend Mrs. Porrter of the Mythe the sum of thirty pounds. To my dear friend Mrs. Henderson of Bath the sum of thirty pounds. To my dear friend Mrs. Firkins the wife of Joseph Firkins of Tewkesbury, maltster, the sum of thirty pounds. To Mrs. Potter of Alstone the sum of thirty pounds. To Mrs. Croome the wife of William Croome. esq. of Tewkesbury the sum of thirty pounds and to Miss Mary Manly of College Street Worcester (for her kindness to my friend Mrs. Lucy during her illness) the sum of thirty pounds. I give to my dear friend Mrs. Higginson of Tewkesbury the sum of nineteen guineas and to her daughters Mrs. Barnard and Mrs. Allard the sum of ten pounds each. I give to Mrs. Elizabeth Ricketts of Gloucester the sum of nineteen guineas. To Miss Jane Ann White of Tewkesbury the sum of nineteen guineas. To Mrs. Trotman of the Swan Inn Tewkesbury the sum of nineteen guineas. To Mrs. Emma Sandford of Winchcomb (my sister Matthews daughter in law) the sum of nineteen guineas, and to her son George (for his honesty in returning the card case) the sum of five pounds. To Mrs. Jane Buckle, formerly of Chacely and to her sisters Mrs. Herbert and Mrs. Wilkinson the sum of nineteen guineas each. To Mrs. Rickford the wife of Richard Rickford of Tewkesbury, grocer, for her kindness in my late illness, the sum of nineteen guineas. To Mrs. Purnell the wife of John Purnell of Tewkesbury the sum of nineteen guineas and to her daughter Sarah Ann Purnell the sum of five pounds. To Charles Bennett the son of Mr James Bennett of Tewkesbury the sum of nineteen guineas. To Joshua Thomas of Tewkesbury, solicitor, the sum of thirty pounds. To Mrs. Thomas the widow of the late William Thomas of Tewkesbury the sum of ten pounds. To Miss Susan Mayall of Tewkesbury the sum of ten pounds. To Miss Sarah Pike and Miss Mary Pike of Mitton the sum of five pounds each. To Alfred Wheeler of Gloucester the sum of ten pounds. To Ann James of Tewkesbury, spinster, the sum of five pounds and to the female servant living with me at my decease the sum of ten poundsd. I give to my former servant Charlotte Clifford the sum of five pounds together with the glass in my back parlour. I give to Samuel Turner, my mason, the sum of ten pounds and to John Cummins the father of my late servant Mary Cummins the sum of five pounds. I direct that the following persons inhabiting alms-houses in the Churchyard and Gander Lane in Tewkesbury, namely Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Hawkins, Mrs. Baldwin, Mrs Hall and Mrs. Sweet together with Mrs. Meekins living in the Old Meeting Yard in Church Street, Mrs. Andrews near the Sun Inn and Mrs. Walker in the O ldbury near the silk mills shall receive the following sums. (viz )Mrs. Blake one pound and the others ten shillings each on the day of my funeral, by the hands of the Rev. Charles Greenall Davies the vicar. I give my books to the venerable John Timbrill D.D. I entreat that my executors will be particular in paying a sum charged by the Overseers of St. Giles as due by the late Mary Collett that if it be due it may be honourably paid. And as to my household goods and furniture, plate, linen and china, together with my dwelling houses in Tewkesbury aforesaid, and all other my estate and effects both real and personal subject to the payment of my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the legacies aforesaid. I give, devise and bequeath the same unto my valued friends, the said John Timbrell and William Croome in equal shares and proportions as tenants in common and their respective heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to and for their own use and benefit. And I appoint the said John Timbrell and William Croome joint executors of this my will, and give and devise to them their heirs and assigns all estates vested in me as trustee or mortgagee subject to the equities affecting the same respectively. I direct that the several legacies of this my will given to married women shall be for their sole and seperate use and benefit respectively, free from and independant of the debts, control or engagements of their respective husbands and that their respective receipts alone notwithstanding their coverture shall be sufficient discharge to my executors for the same.
