In the name of God amen, etc. I, Ellen Shilde widow of Tewkesbury in the county of Glouceste,r being sick in bod but well and in perfect memory, God be thanked for it, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as foloweth. First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God who hath made me, and my body unto the earth to be buried in the church yeard of Tewkesbury aforesaid. Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto the poor of Tewkesbury in money twenty shillings to be paid at my funeral day. Item, I give and bequeath unto Gylles Perkinson, the son of Alyce Leighte, my daughter, seven pounds and the one half of my houshould stuff to be delivered unto him within six months after my decease. All the rest of my goods, moveable and unmoveable, debts, lands, bills, securities and dues which shall remain due unto me at my decease, my funeral discharged, I give and bequeath to my son John Shyld whom I make and appoint my whole executor, and I desrie Mr. Richard Cotton and John Skullowe to be my overseers that this my will may be divided. Acordingly wrote the twenty fourth day of Februarye in the year of our Lord God 1595.
