Last Will and Testament of George Morry the elder of Tewkesbury.

In the name of God amen the twenty fifth day of July in the year of our Lord God one thousand five hundred four score and eight and in the eighth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth, by the grace of god Queen of England, France and Ireland, defender of the faith. I George Morry the elder, of Tewkesbury in the ---- and county of Gloucester, being somewhat --- in body, but God be thanked, of good and perfect remembrance do make and ordain this, my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is ro say; First I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my maker, saviour and redeemer, by the ----- of whose death and passion I have sure and steadfast hope to be partaker of his most gloriious kingdom, and my body to be buried in the earth. Item, I give and bequeath to Joan --gers one ----------, one bedstead, one ----- bed, one bolster, a blanket, a coverlet and five pair of sheets, one brass pot with a ---- in the brim, one little brass panel, a little -----, five platters and a ------. Item, I give unto my brother Thomas Morrey, five shillings. Item, I give and bequeath towards the reparations of the parish church of Tewkesbury and in consideration that my body shall be buried in the said church, twenty shillings. Item, I give and bequeath unto George Morrey, my son, my one messuage or tenement and a garden thereunto belonging with the appurtenances set and being in Tewkesbury in the said county of Gloucester in a certain street there called the High Street, now in the occupation of the said George my son. Also I give and bequeath unto the said George my son, one acre of meadow ground set and being in Avonham near Tewkesbury in the said county of Gloucester, to have and to hold the said messuage or tenement unto the said George my son and to his heirs and assigns for ever to be held of the cheif lord or lords the fee or fees thereof by -------- of right due and accustomed. Item, I give and bequeath unto the said Geroge Morrey, my son, my best gown and my best doublet. Item, my will is that the said George, my son, in consideration of the foresaid gift to him by me given shall pay unto the said Thomas, my brother, the twenty shillings before expenses. Irtem, I give unto the said Elizabeth, my wife, five large ----. Also I give unto the said Elizabeth, my wife, in consideeration that she shall ---- and pay them half of all charges and expenses for my funeral, my foresaid gifts being first deducted ----- half being equally divided of all the residue of all and singular my goods and chattels, moveable and unmoveable whatsoever and not before given. And all the residue of all and singular my goods and chattels moveable and unmoveable and not by my this my present testament and last will given or bequeathed unto the said George Morrey, my son, whom I do make and appoint to be the sole executor of this my last will and testament. and I do hereby utterly make void all testaments and last wills whatsoever by me herebefore made or done. And I do desire Edward ------- and John Field? to be overseers unto the same. In witness whereof I the said George Morrey unto my presnt testament and last will have put my hand and seal ------- the day and year first above written these being witnesses.
