In the name of God amen I, Giles Bridges of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, gentleman, being weak in body but of perfect and sound understanding memory, do make this my, Last Will and Testament, in writing, this fourth day of of May in the fouth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Anne, by the grace of God of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Queen, defender of the faith, or Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and five, in manner and form following (That is to say) First, I recommend my soul to God in hopes of mercy through Jesus Christ and for my wordly goods and estate I give and dispose of the same as followeth. I give, devise and bequeath unto my sister Anne Higford, wife to William Higford of Twyning in the county of Gloucester, gentleman, my messuages, lands, tenements and hereditaments whatsoever, to have and to hold the same unto my said sister Anne Higford and to her heirs and assigns for ever. But my will is that my said sister shall pay unto my kinsman Richard Guy of Tewkersbury aforesaid, the sum of five pounds per annum during the term of his natural life out of my lands and tenements hereby devised, which said sum of five pounds I desire may be paid quarterly. Also i give unto my kinsman Richard Guy one suit of mourning, my best periwig and beaver hat. Item, I give to Giles Smith the elder my opposite neighbour, the sum of twenty shillings. Also I give to Mrs. Mary Baugh of Burlingham, widow, one enamelled mourning ring of twenty shillings value. To Mr. George Baugh and his wife of Burlingham aforesaid, I likewiese give two rings of the like value. Item, I give to my god daughter Eleanor Higford, one gold locket. All the rest of my goods, cattle, chattels and personal estate I give to my said sister Anne Higford whom I do hereby constitute and appoint sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written. Giles Bridges.
