Last Will and Testament of John Turner of Tewkesbury. Yeoman.

In the name of God amen, Anno Domini 1546, August 29. Witnesseth that I, John Turner of the town of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, yeoman, being sick in body but in perfect mind or remembrance, make this, my last will and testament in form and manner hereafter following. First I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty god and my body to be buried in the parish churchyard of the said town of Tewkesbury. Also I bequeath unto the finding of the lamp before the blessed sacrement within the said church, XIJd. Also I bequeath all my lands, tenements, takings or leases unto Brgget, my wife, during her widowhood, and if it happen that the said Brigget, marry, I will that Robert Nicolas, Richard Kinnarde and Thomas Simmonmdes of Elsefelde do gather the rents of my said tenements and lands and yearly divide it among my children by equal portion until my son Thomas come to the age of twenty one years. Also I will that my said wife, Brigget, have her jointure which is XIXs VJd by year during her natural life. Also I bequeath my shop with all things thereto belonging for my occupancy to my said sons Thomas and Richard equally to be divided between them. Also I will that if my said wife break household with may said sons Thomas and Richard that then she leave IJ houses for my said sons to occupy with. Also I bequeath to my son John my best brass pan. Also I bequeatn to Margret my daughter one pair of beds that I bought of ----- Slaughter. Also I bequeath to Elizabeth my daughter, my second brass pan. Also I bequeath to my son Harry my best brass pot. Also I bequeath to Agnes my daughter my second brass pot. Also I bequeath to Elizabeth Ekinsall my mantle coat, over and besides her wages. Also I beqeath that my said son pay yearly unto his brother and sisters Xs out of the dole made during my lease or taking. Also I will that if it happen any of my said children to decease before they come to lawful age, that then the foresaid legacies remain unto the survivors. The residue of all my goods unbequeathed, my debts and funeral discharged, I give and bequeath to the said Brigget, my wife, whom I make my sole executrix. Also I ordain the said Robert Nicholas, Richard Kinnarde, Thomas Symondes to be overseers for the true execution of these -------- and to have for their pains VJs VIIJd apiece. In witness hereof Robert Brian, curate, Robert Nicholas, Richard Kinnarde, Richard Pace with diverse others, the day and year above said.
