In the name of God amen, the twelth day of December in the fifteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles, by the grace of God King of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, defender of the faith etc., Anno Domini 1639 I, Katherine style of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, widow, being sick in body but of perfect remembrance, thanks be given to Almighty God, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the parish church yard of Tewkesbury. Imprimis, I give and bequeath to Richard Style, my son, one wainscote bedstead with a feather bed, a feather bolster, a feather pillow and a coverlet, one blanket, one pair of sheets with all other things belonging to the said bedstead and bed. Alos one joined press, one table board with the frame so belonging to it, one great brass pot, one little yellow basin cauldron. Item, I give and bequeath to Ann Style, my daughter, part of my messuage wherein one John Williams now dwelleth in the solar over it, commonly called Hassard Solar, and also one other part of my messuage called the old house with the solar over the same. Together with one half of the garden belonging to the said messuage, to have and to hold the several parts, with the free ingress and egress to the rivers as above, and to every part of it, to her and her heirs lawfully begotten of her body for ever, and for want of heirs lawfully begotten of her body, to return to Richard Style, my son, and to his heirs lawfully begotten of his body for ever. And my will is that Ann Style, my daughter, shall have and hold the whole messuage or tenement until the twentieth of December which sahll be in the year of our lord 1643 and then, if Richard Style, my son, or his assigns, do pay or cause to be paid to John Man, gentleman, the sum of fifteen pounds and twelev shillings of current English money, which is one moiety of the money for which the whole messuage is mortgaged for, in and upon the twentieth of December which shall be in the year of our lord 1643. Then my will is that Richarfd, my son, shall enter on his part formerly bequeathed, but my will is if my son Richard Style does not pay in the fifteen pounds and twelve shillings towards the redeeming of the mortgage to Mr. Man, then my will is that Ann style, my daughter, shall have and enjoy to her proper use, the whole messuage or tenement with the appurtenances, for and during three years more which will be on the twentieth of December Anno Domini 1646, then my will is that my son, Richard Styles, his heirs or assigns, shall enter and enjoy his part formerly bequeathed, if my son, Richard die without heirs lawfully begotten, my will is that Ann, my daughter shall have to her and her heirs. The rest of my goods, cattels and chattels not formerly bequeathed, I give unto Ann Style, my daughter, whom I make my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament, provided that she pay to Mr. Man the other moiety which is fifteen pounds and twelve shillings, for which the house hath motgaged for, and if it shall happen that the money be not paid in by my daughter, her executors, administrators or assigns or one of them, then my will is that Richard, my son, shall have and enjoy the whole messuage or tenement formerly bequeathed to Ann, my daughter, and to him and his heirs for ever. And I do appoint for the overseers of this my last will and testament, Thomas Jeynes and Thomas Higgins, in witness hereunto I have put my hand and seal given the day and year first above written.
