Last Will and Testament of Mary Webb of Tewkesbury. Widow.

In The Name of God Amen I, Mary Webb, widow, of Tewkesbury, in the County of Gloucester, being weak in body but of perfect memory and understanding. (Thanks be to God for it.) Do make this my Last Will and Testament this first day of September in the year of Our Lord 1729 and the third of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Second in manner and form following. First and above all I bequeath my Soul to Almighty God my most Merciful Saviour, and my Body to the Earth to be Buried in Tewkesbury Church near such place as my dear friend coz Danbury shall choose for herself and with as little expense as decency will permit. As to such worldly goods as God has blessed me with, I desire they may be disposed in following manner. Imprimis. To my brother Hazelwood and his wife a twenty shillings ring each. To my sister Alice ten pounds for mourning. To my brother Edmond Hazlewood ten pounds. To my sister Elizabeth Hazlewood ten pounds and my gold watch. To my coz Simpson, my coz Katherine Hancock and my coz Elizabeth Simpson twenty shillings rings each. A -------- apiece to my cozens Elizabeth and Martha Wilson. To the poor of Tewkesbury and of Bredon in the County of Worcester five pounds each . All the residue and remainder I give and bequeath to my dear friend and relation Mrs Judith Danbury, widow, who I make my whole and sole executrix to this my Last Will and Testament destroying thereby any former will or wills by me at any time made In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the year and day above mentioned, Mary Webb, signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of William Tarfoot, Alice Toms, Sarah Dance.

I leave my brother ----- ten pounds. To my niece Anne ----- ten pounds. To my dear Cosen Sutton? a ring.Tto my niece Dorothy
Haselwood my hair ring as is set round with diamonds. To my niece ------ Haselwood my pearl necklace . Ten pounds to my Cozen Thomas Kemble to buy a piece of plate. The same amount to my Cozen Kemble his wife and ten pounds to my Cosen Judith Hanbury to buy her mourning. Ten pounds to my Cosen Simpson. Five shillings to Elizabeth Johnsons. Twenty pounds to my servant Alice Toms and all the rest, residue and remainder of my money, goods and chattels I give and bequeath to my dear friend and relation Mrs. Judith Hanbury, widow, who I make and ordain my whole and sole executrix to this my Last Will and Testament in witnesshereof I put my seal

Dec 1st 1835.

On which day appeared personally Martha Wilson of Tewkesbury in the County of Gloucester, spinster, and Peter ----- of the same place, Esq. who being severally sworn upon the Holy Evangelists to depose the truth did severally say and depose as followeth, to wit, that they severally know and were well acquainted with Mary Webb, late of Tewkesbury aforesaid, widow, deceased, for several years before and to the time of her death, and also with the manner and character of her handwriting having several times seen her writing and they severally now seen and perused the codicil or testamentary scedule hereunto annexed, beginning thus to wit Dec. 30 1734 I leave my brother ----- ten pounds and so forrth and ending thus to wit In witness thereof I put my -- hand and thus subscribed to wit Mary Webb do severally the same and the whole series theereof and subscription thereof to be all of the proper handwriting of the said Mary Webb deceased. Martha Wison, Peter Hancock, the day and year above mentioned the said Martha Wilson and Peter Hancock were sworn to the truth of the above written promisses by virtue of a commission before me, Henry? Jones.
