In the name of God amen, the fifth day of August in the thirty eighth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth, by the grace of god Queen of England, France and Ireland, defender of the faith etc. and in the year of our Lord god on thousand five hundred niynety and five I, Nicholas Foxley of Walton Cardiff in the diocese and county of Gloucester, husbandman, being sick in body and, god be praised, of good and perfect remembrance, do ordain and make my last will and testament in maner and form following. First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God, my Maker and Redemer, and my body to be buried in Christian burial. Item, I give and bequeath unto the parish church of Tewksbury six shillings and eight pence. Item, I give and bequeath to Elysabeth Tymyng, my maidservant, six shillings and eight pence. Item, I give and bequeath unto Wylliam Bradshall, four pieces of timber. Item, I give, will and devise to Randell Fox alias Foxley, my eldest brother's son and to his heirs and assigns for and all these nine ruges or lands arable containing four acres or there about, which I late purchased and bought of one John Robertes, gentleman, with all the deeds and writings thereunto belonging, and to have and to hold to the same to him, the said Randle and to his heirs and assigns for and provided nevertheless and my will, intent and meaning is that Elysabeth, now my wife, and her executors or assigns shall immediaetly after my decease have, hold, occupy and enjoy the said nine ruges or lands before here mentioned for and during the whole term of four years from thence next ensueing fully to be completed and the residue of all my goods, movable and unmovable, my debts paid and my funeral expences discharged, I give and bequeath unto Elysabeth, my wife, and her I make my whole executrix of this, my last will and testament and I do ordain and make my welbeloved friends John Kedwards, Chrystopher Kemble and Nicholas Taylor my overseers of this my will and testament.
