Last Will and Testament of Rtichard Mynce of Tewkesbury. Gentleman.

In the name of God amen, the thirteenth day of December in the fourteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles the Second, by the grace of God, King of England. Scotland, France and Ireland, defender of the faith etc.. I Richard Mynce of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, gent, being weak in body by reason of my age and grief for the late loss of my brave wife but otherwise in perfect memory and understanding, thanks be given to Almighty God for the same. And being desirous to settle my estate in my lifetime that no contention may arise after my death thereabouts, do make this, my last will and testament in writing in manner and form following, First, I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my creator --------- blessing to be saved by the merits, death and passion of his son, Jesus Christ, my only and alone saviour and redeemer. And my body I commit to the earth to be buried in such decent manner as to my executors hereafter named shall seem meet, and as for my worldly estate which God has been pleased to bless me with i give and bequeathy as followeth. Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my brother Henry Turberville and his wife twenty shillings as apiece. Item, I give and bequeath untom my sister, Isabel Shephard twenty pounds and to her five children ten pounds apiece. Item, I give unto the widow of my brother Anthony Mynce thierty pounds and to his daughter Alice thirty pounds. And to the five children of her the same Alice, thirty pounds apiece. Item, I give to my brother William Turberville's three children ten pounds apiece. Item, I give to my sister Margaret's ------ two children ten pounds apiece. Item, I give unto my sister Morr-- four children ten pounds apoiece. Item, I give to my cousin John ------- ten pounds and to his children twenty pounds to be equally divided between them. Item, I give unto my cousin Henry Turberville's children twenty pounds to be equally divided between them. Item, I give to my cousin William --------- ten pounds. Item, I give unto Gabriell Mynce ten pounds. Item, I give unto Phillip Hilly, son of Phillip Lilly, ten pounds. Item, I give unto John Lilly, son of John Lilly ten pounds and Elizabeth Lilly, daughter of the said John Lilly th---------- pounds. Item, I give unto my daughter in law, Katherine Slicer ten pounds. Item, I give to William ------ children ten pounds to be equally divided between them. Item, I give unto Sara Lilly, daughter of the said Phillip Lilly, one hundred pounds and to Martha Lilly, daughter of the said John Lilly, fifty pounds. And I do hereby will and appoint that all the several legacies before by me given or bequeathed shall be paid within one year next after my decease, and if they shall not, the next year after with interest for the ----------- thereof respectively, until the said legacies shall respectively be paid and satisfied. Item, I do hereby give, devise, bequeath and appoint all that my meadow called the Key meadow, with the appurtenances unto him the said Thomas Lilly and the neirs of his body lawfully to be begotten. And for want of such issue, to William Lilly, brother of the said Thomas Lilly and the heirs of the body of the said William, lawfully to be begotten. Item, I give and bequeath, devise and appoint unto the said Willaim Lilly all my latter math feeding and ----- of the meadows called Avon Hams, to have and to hold unto the said William Lilly and the heirs of his body lawfully to be begotten. and for want of such issue, to the said Thomas Lilly and the heirs of his body lawfully to be begotten. Provided always and it is my inetent and meaning, and I hereby give, devise, charge and appoint one annuity or yearly rent of thirty shillings for such of lawful money of England to be issuing and payable out of the said latter math vesture and feeding of the said Avon Hams for and towards the repair of the Long Bridge which leadeth from old Avon to the Mithe, and to be paid by the survivor or owner or owners of the said latter math ----- or ------ to the surveyors of the high ways in the parish of Tewkesbury for the time being for the purpose aforesaid and ------ --- --- on the feast day of Saint Michael the Archasngel, the first payment thereof to begin and be paid on the feast day of Saint Michael the Archangel which shall first happen next after my decease. And I hereby charge and appoint that ---------------------- shall be yearly given to the Bailiffs and Chamberlain of Tewkesbury for the time being touching the disposition and employing thereof by such surveyors who shall from time to time receive the sum. And I do hereby further will and appoint that if any wilful neglect or failure shall be made in the disposition and imploying of the same annuity or yearly rent according to the purpose of this my last will and testament, that then the payment of the said annuity or yearly rent shall cease and no longer continue, as if the same had never been by him given or bequeathed. All the rest of my goods, chattels, ready money, plate and household stuff and other personal estate whatsoever I give and bequeath unto Phillip Lilly, son of my late dear and loving wife, Anne Mynce, which said Phillip Lilly I make and ordain sole executor of this, my last will and testament. Provided always and I do hereby declare and it is my firm intent and meaning that I have purchased the inheritance of any messuages, lands or tenements, either in my own name or in the name of any other person or persons, and have kept any lease or leases thereof or of any part thereof ----- that in such case and cases such lease and leases shall go-- with and attend upon the inheritance of the same messuages, lands and tenements. Then I do hereby constitute and appoint Edward Jennings, gent, and Edward Wilson, his son, overseers of this, my last will and testament. And to either of them I give twenty shillings as a token of my love unto them to buy them rings. And I do hereby revoke and make void all former wills, in witness wherof I have to this, my last will and testament put my hand and seal the day and year firsdt above written.
