Last Will and Testament of Samuel Dobbins of Tewkesbury. Malster.

In the name of God amen I, Samuel Dobbins of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, malster, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, thanks be to god, do make this my Last Will in manner following. First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God hoping for salvation through the merits of Jesus Christ and for my wordly estate I dispose thereof as followeth. Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my loving kinsman Daniel Kemble and Thomas Kemble and that my messuage or tenement in the High Street in Tewkesbury aforesaid and all those several messuages or tenements in Barton Street in Tewkesbury aforesaid, and all those several parcels of arable land and meadow ground in a place called Loxleys, and a piece of ground adjoining to the said Garden called the Folly, and all other my messuages, lands and tenements with their appurtenances, and all my right, title and interest to the same, to hold to them the said Daniel Kemble and Thomas Kemble and their heirs upon this trust and confidence nevertheless in them the said Daniel Kemble and Thomas Kemble their executors and administrators reposed, that they and each of them do suffer Hester, my loving wife to receive the rents, issues and profits of all and singular the said premises for the space of ten years after my death for and towards the maintenance of my younger children, she paying during the said time unto my sister Elizabeth an annuity of fourteen pounds per annum charged upon part of the premises by my late father and also paying all such interest of money that is now due or which shall hereafetr become due upon several mortgages made by me of the premises or any part thereof. And also it is my will that after the expiration of the said term of ten years after my interest as aforesaid my said trustees Daniel Kemble and Thomas Kemble do permit and suffer my said wife to reserve the rents, issues and profits of my said house in the High Street in Tewkesbury aforesaid with the appurtenances for the term of her natural life and after her decease then to the use and behoof of my son Henry Dobbins and his heirs forever and as to all and singular my messuages and tenements in the Barton Street in Tewkesbury aforesaid and arable land and meadow ground in the Oldbury and garden after the expiration of the term of ten years aforesaid my will is that my said trustees, Daniel Kemble and Thomas Kemble do sell the same and discharge all such sums of money that shall be due and owing upon the same premises. And further it is my will that my said trustees do out of the overplus of the said premises when sold, pay unto my said son Henry the sum of fifty pounds which several sums were given them by my late daughter Elizabeth fifty pounds and to my son Samuel fifty pounds to be paid them out of the overplus of my said estate when sold and debts thereupon paid. And all the rest of the overplus of my estate I give unto my said children to be equally divided among them, share and share alike. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Henry the sum of fifty pounds to be paid when he shall come to the age of one and twenty years by my executrix all the rest of goods and chattels I give to my loving wife Hester whom I do make executrix of this my Last Will, revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I, the said Samuel Dobbins have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and ninety seven.
