In the name of God amen, the twenty third day of November Anno domini 1644 I, Sibell Goodman of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, widow, sick in body but of good and perfect memory, I thank God therefore, do here make my last will and testament in manner and form following. Imprimis, I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker and creator, and of Jesus Christ my saviour and redeemer, by whose merits I expect remission of my sins and salvation of my soul. And for my body I commend it to the earth whereo it was made, to be buried in decent manner at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named. And for my worldly goods which I have either by my own or by the will nuncupative of my deceased husband, Richard Goodman, I dispose of them as followeth. Imprimis, I give to my cousin, John Homer's children, one half head bedstead, one featherbed, one blanket, one coverlet, being all in the possession of John Norris. Item, I give to my cousin, Francis Stoakes, of Henleye, one flock bed, one coverlet, one blanket being likewise in the possession of the said John Norris. Item, I give to my cousin John Phillips of Worcester, one feather bolster, one pillow being also in ther possession of the said John Norris. Item, I give to Robert Brookenbanke, one pillow being likewise in the possession of the said John Norris. Item, I give to my godson, Ralph Bartholomewe, my best bolster and blanket I now lie upon. Item, I give to John Porter the other bolster I lie upon and one pillow. Item, I give to John Pitt, the flockbed and pillow I also lie upon. Item, I give to Mrs. Plevye of Tewkesbury my trunk. Item, I give to widow Turbell the flaxen sheet upon me. Item, I give to my brother in law, Mr. Jones of Titherington, all such goods of mine whatsoever as are in his custody and possession. And the rest of my goods and chattels I give to my cousin Thomas Bartholomewe of Tewkesbury whom I make and ordain sole executor of this, my last will and testament. And I entreat my well beloved friends and neighbours, Thomas Hale the younger, and Richard Berrowe, to be my overseers, to see this my will in all things duly performed. In witness thereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year above written. Sibell Godman.
