In the name of God amen, the tenth day of June in the year of our Lord God one thousand five hundred and four score
in the twenty second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth, by the grace of God, Queen of England, Frannce and
Ireland, defender of the faith etc. I, William Felde of Tewkesbury in the diocese and county of Gloucester, mercer, sick in body but ( thanks be to God ) of good and perfect memory, do make and ordain my last will and testament
in maner and form following: First and principally, I give and bequeath my soul to Almighty God, my Maker
and Redeemer, and my body I commit to the earth in Christian burial to be buried. Item, I give and bequeath to
the parish church of Tewkesbury aforesaid, for and in consideration of my burial there to be had ten shillings. Item,
I give and bequeath to the poor people of Tewkesbury twenty shillings to be distributed at the day of my burial by
the discretion of my overseers undernamed. Item, I give and bequeath towards the reparations of the holm
bridge or else of the causeway there three shillings and four pence. Item, I give and bequeath to Helene my wife for the term of natural
lfe, all that messuage or tenement with the appurtenances, lying in Barton Street in Tewkesbury aforesaid now
in the occupation of Johan Felde, and after her decease I give and bequeath the said messuage or tenement with
the appurtenances and the rendition and renditions of the same unto Nicholas, my son, to have and hold the said messuage or tenement with the appurtenances after my wife's decease, to the said Nicholas and to the heirs of his body
lawfully begoten for ever, and for lack of such issue, my will is that the same shall remain to Gyles,
my son and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten for ever, and for lack of such issue my will is that
the same shall remain to William, my son, and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten for ever, and
for lack of such issue, my will is that the same messuage or tenement with the appurtenances shall remain
to the right heirs of me, the said William Felde, forever. Item, I give and bequeath to any of my three sons
Nicholas, Gyles and William, ten pounds of lawful money of England, that is to say ten pounds apiece to be
paid unto any of them at their several ages of twenty four years. Item, I give and bequeath to Margery, my daughter sixty three pounds, six shillings and eight pence to be paid unto her at the day of her marriage or else at the age of twenty one years
at such of her marriage or age as shall first happen. And if it shall happen any of my children before named do die before his or her portion shal be paid, then my will is that his, her or their portion or
portions so deceasing shall remain to the survivor or survivors of them equally to be divided among
them. Item, I give and ------- to my brother Edward, fifteen shillings and eight pence which he oweth unto me. Item, I geve and
bequeath to every of my brother Edward's children three shillings and four pence. Item, I give and bequeath to Richard, my brother, five shillings. Item, I give and bequeath to Henry, my Brother, ten shillings. Item, I give and bequeath to any of
Roger Gylbert's children three shillings and four pence apiece. Item, I give and bequeath to any of Thomas Dryver's children three shillings and four pence apiece. Item, I give and bequeath to my two servant maids twenty pence apiece (and besides their wage).
All the residue of my goods and catells, moveable and unmoveable (my debts legacies and funeral charges
borne and discharged) I wholly give and bequeath to Helen my wife, whom I do make my sole executor
of this my present will and testament and I do desire my loving friends Nicholas Gro---,
Gyles Geest, Roger Gylbert, and Thomas Dryver to be overseers of the same, and I do give to any of
them three shillings and four pence apiece for his pains. These being witness, William Hill, Thomas Rogers, Gyles Geest,
Roger Guy, and Thomas Dryver. Given the day and year above written.
