This is the Last Will and Testament of me, William Holder of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, cordwainer. I give and bequeath the following legacies, namely : To my sister Elizabeth Chandler, widow, the sum of three pounds. To my grandson Thomas Holder, son of my late son William Holder the sum of ten pounds, and to my grandson William Haines, son of my daughter Sarah, the wife of George Haines, the sum of four pounds. All the rest, residue and remainder of my monies, securities for money, personal estate, chattels and effects of every description whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my three children Joshua Holder, Ann Holder and Sarah the wife of the said George Haines, equally, share and share alike, as near as can be. The shares of my said daughters to be independent of the debts, control or engagements of their present or any future husbands or husband, and their receipts alone to be suficient discharges for the same. I appoint William Brydges of Tewkesbury, hosier, executor of this my will. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven. Signed, published and declared by the said William Holder as his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribes our names as witnesses.
