Last Will and Testament of William Mann of Tewkesbury. Victualler.

In the name of god amen I, William Mann of the Upper Lode in the parish of Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucester, victualler, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form, that is to say, first, it is my will that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expences shall be fully paid and satisfied by my executors and executrrix hereinafter named, from out of the residue of my personal estate. I give and devise all those my freehold cottages or tenements with the said hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging, situate, lying and being within the parish of Forthampton in the county of Gloucester and now in the occupations of William Payne, Henry Hunt and Mary Woodward, unto my dear wife Sarah Chadnor Mann and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life, and from and immediately after her decease then I give and devise the said freehold cottages or tenements, land, hereditaments and appurtenances unto my son William Mann the younger, his heirs and assigns for ever. Also I give to my said wife Chadnor Mann the use of all my plate, silver, household goods and furniture whatsoever which shall be in my dwelling house at the time of my decease, as the same shall be ascertained by an inventory thereof to be then taken, and subject to any unavoidable loss or damage, during her lifetime, and from and after her decease I give and bequeath the same unto and amongst all and every my children the said William the younger, Sarah Hopkins Mann, Mary Ann Mann and Eliza Mann, their executors, ------ and assigns equally to be divided between them share and share alike provided always and it is my will that in case any or either of them the said William Mann the younger, Sarah Hopkins Mann, Mary Ann Mann and Eliza Mann shall happen to die in the lifetime of my said wife Sarah Chadnor Mann before his, her or their attaining the age of twenty one years, or day or days of marriage which shall first happen, then I give and bequeath the share or shares of him, her or them so dying unto and amongst the survivors or survivor of them in equal shares and proportions if more than one, and if only one, then to such only child, and as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate of what nature, kind and quality soever the same may be and not hereinbefore given and disposed of, after payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses as aforesaid, I do hereby give and bequeath the same unto my dear wife the said Sarah Chadnor Mann, her executors, ------ and assigns to and for ---- their own use and benefit absolutely and I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my brothers in law, Thomas Hopkins of Tirley in the said county of Gloucester, farrier, Barnwell Whitmore of Winchcombe in the same county, victualler, and also my said wife Sarah Chadnor Mann , executors and executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I, the said testator, William Mann, have to this my last will and testament, set my hand and seal this seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three.
